EXO brothers

The Group at Disneyland
Instead of reviewing another episode of EXO Showtime, I want to discuss the brotherliness of the EXO
group.

EXO sharing a room during
their pre-debut days.
Training together, working hard together and living together creates groups which members are very close to each other. EXO is no exception. While watching their show, you notice how close they are, and how well they know each other. They are more than friends, more than best friends. They've created a family with each other.

An example is Episode 3 where the member's decide to celebrate Chanyeol's birthday. They all work together to distract Chanyeol so that each member can buy him a birthday gift! They tease and play with him. Kai and Sehun end up buying him gardening gloves just to mess with him. The members know Chanyeol so well, giving him incredibly sweet gifts. For example, Chanyeol goes to the hat store with Kai and Sehun (who are trying to ditch him so they can buy a gift). Chanyeol gets distracted by a really nice hat! Everyone knows him as the guy who has a hat obsession. Once he realizes that the younger members had ditched him, he goes to look for them. Later on, you see Xiumin inside the same store, and he, unaware of Chanyeol's desire to get said hat, buys it because he knows it's exactly Chanyeol's taste. I think its uber sweet the way Xiumin knew him so well.
Chanyeol enjoying his birthday gifts all at once with the members

Near the end of the episode, the producers decide to make Chanyeol play a game. He must guess which present is from who or else he cant keep it. Although he misses a ton of gifts, he does guess many very well. Other members also choose really well for him. After this episode, it showed me how they are all like siblings. They play tricks on each other, tease each other, but love and know each other so well.

Baekhyun vs Kris to see who is strongest
I have two older siblings, so I know pretty well what it's like deal with each other. Though many times you treat each other well, other times you can't deal with them. Siblings are able to talk to each other very comfortably and aren't afraid to embarrass you. In fact, they embarrass you on purpose. Episode 4 of Showtime was nice because it was basically all of them giving and receiving gifts for Christmas. However, the best part was when they began to talk about memories of each other. Members would say obnoxious things about someone and leave them slightly bothered, however, they could still joke around. That's the best part of having a sibling. Being able to bother them freely and not have to care about losing their love! It's great how you can act as silly as you want with your siblings.

Just like we didn't choose our siblings, EXO didn't choose their member. Yet they still love each other for who they are. Being forced to practically be with each other 24/7, they make the best out of it and keep fighting! They have truly become one big family.

EXO Showtime! Episode 2 Thoughts

I've already posted a journal yesterday, but I had to do this episode as well!

The Show opens up with a question : What does EXO do on their day off?
Then comes out Tao, Kris, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun.

The intro is nice, it gives me a warm feeling. This is the first time, as Baekhyun commented, that they went out in public like that since their debut. Chanyeol also has a fan call out his name out from a window as the pass by.  He has a very cute reaction and gets all flustered.

Its weird cause some people are just filming them with their phones as they do their business. The part where they recognize that Tao is gone, you can see a girl about 2-3 feet away just filming them. This sort of fan behavior is not new to me, but still strikes me as weird. Western fans of Western Artists usually run after the star, trying to touch them. However, this Korean fan seems satisfied by just filming their every move. I like this better, even though it is pretty weird to me. It shows a sort of respect for their favorite singer.

Tao gets lost and its so cute really. He was too busy looking at hats in a store while the others left him. I've been in that sort of situation before, I try to act normally, but my heart is getting to beat really fast and I'm nervous! I just got lost from the crowd! I bet he felt that way, at least a little. You can see it in the way he acts. Not to mention there are groups of fans outside the shop he is in. At least they look like they don't plan to attack him. The whole scene is very cute, the show is living up to what it said it would do: Show us EXO when they aren't on stage. These boys look so normal and cute, and are becoming more relate-able.

The cutest part is when D.O is singing along to the radio, seriously, but as the note pointed out "He is enjoying himself." He starts doing all sorts of things in the car but all I'm thinking is "Where's he going? Where's the others?"

Then we switch to Kai, talking to his his older sister on the phone. I'm assuming by "noona", they mean "older sister" and not an " older girl friend". He has two sisters, so I wonder which it is. Kai comments that he wonders if the kids will remember him. Being so busy on tours and being on shows, there's not a lot of time for seeing old friends and family.

Kai has babies?!?! The expression on his face of sheer happiness is adorable when he sees his puppies coming in.They are Monggu, Jjanggu, and Jjanggah. Then suddenly a wild Suho appears, where did he come from?! Maybe the scent of puppies brought him here (hehehe).

The next part, we see Chen skateboarding, who knew? Well, he's not so good at it and he can tell, so he walks off to see some people playing basketball.... with Lay?? I've always wondered how guys can act so natural when playing a sport, they can just walk up to random strangers and just play a game.. That's weird. It reminds me of my cousin.

Lay, Luhan, Xiumin and Chen are all riding bicycles next. (Where do they get them from? I'm starting to think they pull it out of thin air..) Apparently they do this all the time, when no one is occupying the street. They enjoy being together and relaxing this way.

"My mucus is coming out!"

We go back to the first group who arrived already at  the restaurant to eat Makchang, which is Korean pork intestine. Kris has been letting more loose than the last episode. I'm happy for that. This is their first time eating small and large pork intestines. The other members are just as suspicious as me when Kris begins to joke around.

They are so impatient! Like little kids, they eat raw intestine. How troublesome for the poor waitress. They are making the restaurant look bad! They are super hungry. I've heard about usual diets for Hallyu stars and apparently they eat very little because of their busy schedules. So I don't blame them for their appetite.

"JIB to the GEH"

D.O is apparently the lone wolf in this episode watching a movie by himself. I wonder if he likes to be alone often. It gets awkward when you're alone. In that situation I don't know what I would do. Luckily, Kyungsoo (D.O) has a lot of playthings to keep himself entertained.

That awkward moment when you don't know how to order at the confection stand..

Cheese Sauce, Cheese Sauce
I'm surprised at his ability to hold a Sprite cup with his mouth.

Well, I'm not going through the whole episode if that's what you were expecting!
I really love this episode, it's sort of slow but funny and with a lot of precious moments. You can start to relate to EXO. I'll definitely keep watching !

Here's the link to the episode with englsh subtitles, I can't seem to get the video on here.

EXO Showtime ! Episode 1 Thoughts

EXO Reality Show??

So, after taking a break from following my children, EXO, I had a little catching up to do. I caught up with their new album, any variety show they starred in etc. But when I heard that they were going to star in their own reality show, I nearly went insane!

How many times will they ask what their diets are like??
It's only fair that SM Entertainment (the company they are signed under) would give us a EXO Reality Show. What with the endless teasers, holding back on the debut date, lack of guest starring of various shows, we totally deserve this. The only time we'd see EXO promoting themselves was on a whole bunch of dry talk show interviews which generally had the same questions and sort of dragged on and on. As a big EXO fan, having known about them since they were announced to be debuted, even I couldn't bear to watch the hour long talk shows that seemed to take forever. I wanted something juicy and entertaining. I wanted EXO to reveal their true selves through actions and not just words.

During their comeback in 2013, SM allowed EXO to be on funny variety shows such as Happy Camp (though they went on this last year) and Running Man (Oh how I loved Running Man! It was so funny). SM gave EXO more liberty in being themselves and goofing off. Now I'm getting to see what I've been craving ever since Kai's first teaser came out!
Kai dressed up in an Angry Bird Costume on Happy Camp

The reality show is just icing on the cake!

The show is called "EXO Showtime" and is basically going to follow EXO and reveal how they are when they aren't all dolled up and performing on stage.

I hadn't been able to watch the first episode when it came out because of homework and other obligations, but I finally watched it when I woke up late last Wednesday and didn't go to school (it wasn't on purpose PROMISE!)

I wasn't so sure what I was expecting, I only know EXO through interviews and tumblr fan pages. Usually, on a reality show, they do sort of an introduction and dive in slowly. It mostly focuses on making sure we know who we are watching.

The Episode opens up with the members coming out of their vans with "Let out the Beast" playing in the background. The music totally made me anxious to watch more. Good job to the editors for making my heart going crazy just by listening to that song! Very matching song "Let out the Beast" because you're letting out EXO from their vans. I see whatcha did thar...

Cute Puppy getting in the way of the shot!
"Eu-reu-rong" Which means "Growl" and happens to be the title of their latest Music Video!!
So The Episode is introduced as the "EXO Prologue" meaning I was right in thinking about introductions...

Anyway, the members enter a room with a giant table, snacks on the right, and a flat screen. Oh and a bookshelf... This is very curious, it's leaving me curious. (I'M SO CURIOUS YEAH!)

The first person to appear is Chanyeol! And what does he do? He automatically goes to the snack table. I had totally called it, he's such a funny guy that it was expected.

The members are just as lost as we are. They are roaming the room, observing it and waiting to see what will happen. Of course I would too. The other members (besides Chanyeol and Luhan who are to caught up in.the snacks) decide whether to sit or not. Just then a message appears on the screen of the TV cuing them to "sit where ever they like." Luhan, who was walking past the screen as the message appeared looked most startled. Oh no what did I do?!?!

Of course Chanyeol makes a joke by sitting on top of the table.

The members then proceed with seating arrangements making sure to leave the middle spot open for their leader Suho, knowing how he loves to sit in the middle....Kris on the other hand just sits at the end corner of the table. How interesting, I would've just sat "wherever I like" without thinking about other people!

I'm not going through the whole episode exactly as it turned out. However it was super entertaining. The members got to answer questions by fans which led to interesting activities such as picking out the feature that it unique to each member and having a chicken eating competition to see who'd win the title of "Chicken Maniac."

What I love about the show is that you are able to tell how each person's character is, without (as far as I know) too much manipulation or limitation. You definitely are able to now put a personality on their beautiful faces. I'm excited to watch the next episode to see what they will reveal to us next!
